I honestly didn't know this was the Pope. It was my idea to set it in South America during the late 80's and I even considered putting a time and place at the heading so there would be no confusion but after rereading it I thought it wasn't needed. I was wrong. If the story has "olden-day" or "Western" language, it is because I talk that way I guess, but that was never my intention.

Crybbe666- I only have a passing knowledge of the Da Vinci Code, but the story was based on a dream I had the other night and I retold it in it's entirety, with the only difference was that the part of Jesus was played by a young Willem Dafoe.

Flannery- Yes dear, we share a brain. Next week it's my turn to use it.

CJT- I'm glad you liked it dear. I tried to make it a little funny, as I try with all my stories as I don't know that I could pen one without at least one joke, but I didn't think it was very funny until I read your comment and went back to reread it. It turns out it is funnier than I ever planned! Thanks for pointing that out to me!

Thank you all for dropping by and I'll be swinging by your place tomorrow to see what you've been up to.

DocDochttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16979621370660001312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25184989.post-47981777841630181252010-07-13T15:56:02.462-04:002010-07-13T15:56:02.462-04:00Doc, your stories make me smile and giggle like a ...Doc, your stories make me smile and giggle like a little school girl each time I read them! To me, the dialogue and mannerisms still suggested a "olden-day" or "western" theme, and so the photograph of the Nun fit well, but the other photograph of the current Pope unfortunately seemed too modern... even though I must admit his facial wrinkles fit the rest of the story excellently. I truly enjoy your writing style!

PipeTobacco
http://frumpyprofessor.blogspot.comPipeTobaccohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17746884792061867611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25184989.post-44052455365840291532010-07-13T11:28:43.815-04:002010-07-13T11:28:43.815-04:00That wrinkly old bastard.
