This is an unflattering picture of my pickled foot after the trip. It is next to the wet boot that you see to the right. It has nothing to do with anything.
Things I Didn't Hear On My Trip:
1. Babies cry
2. Sirens
3. Telephones
4. Television
5. Orangatauns
Things I Did Hear:
1. Flutter of bat wings
2. Hum of mosquitoes and dragonflies
3. The "Pop" and "Snap" of a fire I made
4. A heart-felt sigh of relief
5. An owl calling for it's mate
Things I Didn't See
1. The dawn
2. Fishnet stockings
3. Money exchanged
4. Street lights come on
5. The need for violence
Things I Saw:
1. The value of push-ups
2. Why family matters
3. How I can be better
4. The Holy Ghost*
5. Absolutely every star visible by the naked eye

*I didn't actually see the Holy Ghost, but I had several meaningful meetings with his secretary. If his one o'clock cancels on Thursday like he figures, I'll be in like Flynn.
Those things you saw and heard were well worth the price of a canoe, weren't they?
