The Cap'n is campaigning for National Novel Writing Month as well as National Blog Posting Month again, and in years past I've always ducked out on this for a couple of reasons. One, I write one good post every two weeks and the rest are good ideas poorly executed, or fluff that amuses only me. I cannot in good concience subject my Dear and Gentle Readers to that much garbage. Two, I don't think I have a novel in me, but I've got a couple of stories.I have one I've been mulling over for some time and it seems like this is as good a time as any to toss it out there, as it is a tale of greed, deceit, violence, sex and murder. Who knows? It might be a movie of the week on the Lifetime Channel. And what with Halloween coming this sounds somewhat fitting.
I call it "Garage Door Helpline".
Should anyone like to read this tale, leave me a note in the comments. If I get more than four positive responses, I'll write and publish it, and you can tell it around the water cooler and pass it off as your own. If you would rather see some new dirty jokes printed instead, I'll understand. I leave it all up to you. Does this sound like something you would read?
