The picture is taken from a series of boys adventure novels from the thirtys that I read as a kid called "Doc Savage; the man of Bronze". I spent two days trying to find a avatar that seemed fitting and this is the one I came up with, since we share a common name (Doc) and a common trade (Adventurer). Flannery had to crop the picture down so it would work and you can't see that he is in a action pose with a revolver in one hand and an overloaded treasure chest in the other. He is also dressed in an old time diving suit.
