Today Is A Black Day

1937-2008

(Click the dates for his bio.)

I am crushed. I've lost a hero who changed me, and for this I mourn deeply.

Damn it George! Just when we needed you most, you move on to a land where there are no bad words. I hope you bump into Socrates, as I'm sure the two of you will have a lot to talk over. Thank You Sir for all the laughs, but mostly I'd like to thank you for your honesty and your truth. Good philosophers come along so rarely, and ones with a sense of humor are even less seldom.

I hope you remembered to pack everything, "Money, keys, comb, wallet, lighter, hanky, pen, whips, chains, dildos, and a book."

By the way, I prayed to that God you didn't believe in and He said you were right.

If you see my Dad and Mom, give them my love.

EDITOR"S NOTE: Social Zymurgy has changed it's color scheme to blue. It will remain blue until I feel ready to return it to it's rightful color of Beer Yellow. I will try my very best to put up a fitting tribute to this warm, thoughtful, funny man. Please, bare with us, Dear and Gentle Reader, as the staff tries to gather themselves, and expect a flurry of posts.

  1. He will be greatly missed. He was one of the few who could up life in front of your eyes and show you the raw stupidity.

  2. I'm glad I got to see him live at least once.

  3. You used the same clip I did. It's a great clip. I knew this was coming for a long time because of all the heart trouble he'd had, but still. But still.

  4. I watched a tribute to him on Larry King last night because I can never get enough of hearing him talk. It's so sad to think we won't hear anything new out of him.

  5. I know what you mean. I was like: George, we need people like you, you can't go now.

    I'll never forgive him.
