My Beer Cartoons

Thank you all for your patience in reading the fluff that has collected in my draft file or "Notes From The Bottom Drawer", and to celebrate my return, I offer up a few cartoons I've penned. Enjoy!

For the dog lover, not to mention my friends in Colorado.

Yes, I swim in a T shirt. I can't take too much sun.

I don't eat ice cream because of this.

  3. love th' ducks.

BTW, did you ever read Cannery Row? There's a wonderful passage in there where Doc orders a beer milkshake. It's all about how he's always wanted to try one, but was afraid to because someone would want to know WHY he wanted one. So he finally invents a reason of his doctor telling him to have one a day, and the guy behind the bar believes him. It's a great passage: makes me thunk of you e'ery time. I'll see if I can dig it up and post it.

  4. Skyler's Dad- Thanks a lot, but I really am a hack. Most of the time the perspective is all wrong or one arm will be longer than the other, etc., but as the artist it is easy to be critical of one's own work. Da Vinci thought his work was just okay.

Dale- I learned to draw from my brother and all of his characters had huge noses, and when I started to draw this character of myself years ago I left the nose off because he has such big eyes that it crowds out his mouth and it is hard to get the right expression on his face with the nose in the way. Thanks for stopping by. Always good to hear from you.

Cap'n Ergo- I like to draw ducks. Ducks are fun and funny. And I like milkshakes. We'll have to try a PBR milkshake sometime, and I've never read Cannery Row but it is on my short list.

Gifted Typist- Thank you dear. If there is something you would like for me to draw you, I'd be happy to. Just leave me a comment.

  6. Okay, I'm going to be shameless. I love the self-portrait. If you ever get inspired to do one for me, I would be honored to have one.

  8. See, yep, if you could do degradation, you might be my book illustrator.

I made some attempts inspired by or copying Splotchy's doodles, either way.

    I called them froodles.

    (They're down a few posts.)
